DTN COMMENTS:     A few sales are being reported in parts of Texas this 
afternoon at $246, $9 higher than last week's weighted averages. There 
are still some bids on the table in parts of Kansas and Nebraska, but 
they continue to be passed. While we may see a little more trade, it 
looks like the bulk of business is essentially completed for the week. 
Yesterday light business was reported, with Southern live deals marked at 
$245 to $246, $8 to $9 higher than last week's weighted averages. 
Northern dressed trade was marked at mostly $385, $13 higher than last 
week's weighted averages. 

Today's slaughter totaled 96,000 head, 4,000 higher than last week, but 
13,000 less than a year ago. Saturday's kill is estimated at 8,000 head, 
bringing the weekly total to 533,000 head, 10,000 greater than the prior 
week, but 53,000 below 2025. Cattle futures are not available due to the 
Good Friday holiday. Beef cutouts are expected to close mixed with light 
to moderate box movement.
